The Javier López Gallery offers the works of five artists whose themes, although apparently heterogeneous, share a common core: abstraction.
Although their approaches to painting differ, they all show a deep desire to renew the abstract language. The colours and spots do not originate in gestures but are part of the creative development. They are part of the highest possible expression of the act of painting. Therefore the artists confront a blank canvas to find the painting in the very act of painting, which at times goes beyond the process to achieve an existential experience or one of self-knowledge. In spite of the fact that the work of these artists moves in an apparent abstraction and a non-referential world, it is created from stories that occur in everyday life.
